The Hazara Association of Queensland (HAQ), founded in 2005 as a grassroots initiative, is dedicated to supporting the Hazara community, an ethnic group originally from Afghanistan. Over the years, HAQ has become a trusted organization, uniting individuals through shared history and culture while providing essential social services, organizing vibrant events, and contributing to local charities and business investments across Queensland.

At HAQ, our mission is to provide comprehensive support to the Hazara community, enhancing their social and cultural welfare. We strive to foster unity, tolerance, and acceptance among Hazaras while facilitating their integration into Australian society. Central to our mission is the preservation of our cultural and national values, alongside a deep appreciation for Australia’s diverse cultural heritage and human rights.

Our vision is a cohesive and inclusive society where Hazara members thrive in unity and understanding, both within themselves and with broader Australian communities. We embrace cultural diversity and respect for political and religious beliefs as natural facets of our community’s identity. We foster a sense of belonging and uphold the values and laws of our new home.

A sneak peak of what our own HAQ Cultural Centre Building will look like upon completion. The building site is situated in Logan. This is not just a building but a shared home for us all to be built with the help of our generous members and supporters. This place will be a central location for our community members and the wider Logan residents to hold their events and gatherings there.
