Building Our Community Centre, One Bolani at a Time!

At the World Multicultural Day Event organised by the SSI (Settlement Services International), the Hazara Association of Queensland (HAQ) came together with one important goal: to raise funds towards the construction of our HAQ Cultural Community Centre.
Our dedicated volunteers worked together to prepare and sell delicious Bolani and Shornakhod, turning our food, culture and community spirit into a meaningful contribution towards building a permanent home for our community.
Every Bolani sold, every plate of Shornakhod shared, and every contribution made on the day brought us one step closer to achieving our vision.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible HAQ volunteers for your time, hard work and dedication — from preparing and cooking the food, to serving customers, organising the stall and working behind the scenes. Your teamwork made this fundraising effort a success.
We also sincerely thank SSI (Settlement Services International) for their valuable support and partnership, and the Logan Mayor for joining us and showing support for our community and our vision.
Most importantly, thank you to all our generous supporters, families and community members who supported the fundraiser by purchasing Bolani and Shornakhod, making donations and encouraging our efforts. Your support means so much to us.
This fundraiser was more than selling food. It was a demonstration of what we can achieve when our community comes together, works together and supports a shared vision.
Every contribution brings us closer to a Cultural Community Centre where our community can gather, celebrate our culture, support one another and create opportunities for future generations.
Together, we can build it. Together, we can make it our home.
